The title in and of itself should evoke an immediate sense of revulsion for this idea — Seriously, who in their right mind would mix the two?
Well, there are indeed people who have managed to do so, and as they reach further and further into the act of prophecy, they are becoming more and more laughable. However insane this may seem, I have seen some of the wildest theories, attempting to tie Mayan, Judaic, and other older myths into one grand Satanic return, that ends in their viewpoint being the only one, and everyone in some way bowing to their supposed awesomeness.
To this I would have to say it is time to draw the line, and make ourselves, or at least myself distant from such idiotic notion.
We Are Not A Doomsday Cult
This goes without saying, as obviously we are followers of a path known to them as that of the Adversary, and this is not the way of their messiah. While I personally do not have anything against the Jewish people as a whole, their ideology and theology is a little wacky.. Well, ok, it is REALLY crazy.
This is not however the issue.. Judaism is not the only messianic cult in the world of religion, as a matter of fact there are many other such groups – Some more obscure than others, but they exist. There is a list of religions, that contain many differing groups that predate ‘Christianity’ and carry the same principles. The item of note, is that many look towards a returning ‘king’ that will vindicate his children and so on. This was made the most known by Christianity and in turn Judaism.
Some have attempted to say, that Satan, being supposedly a SUPER ancient deity that Jesus, and other deities was stolen from, contains the same messianic qualities. These have been used to prop up stories of long dead cultures, whom foretold their vindication by their returning god/gods. These stories are not only able to be discarded, as they are all dead and their culture buried, but also the fact that their information preserved somewhat on stone, is open to interpretation. There is not one person on this planet that can for SURE state what was written by someone 3000 years ago, and even if they could – Where did THEIR messiah/returning god go? Did he miss his exit? Did he fall asleep?
The point is, that delusions of the returning savior, is something that has kept Christians going for over 2000 years – don’t you think it would have happened if this were even remotely possible.
Satanism, is supposed to be apart and aside from the idiocy that permeates Abrahamism, and any other Messianic style cult.
What Causes This Confusion
In the defense of some who are genuinely enthralled with this idea, it is not all their fault. Truthfully, it is the fault of those who have engendered this thought process into Satanism, allowing it to fester.
The principle cause, in my view, would be the ‘cult leaders’ who make this seem possible. While their followers may in turn plant the seeds of this poisonous weed, they are unwitting pawns in this grand messianic cancer. The leadership, holding on to their delusions, will send out the ideas, and claim that they have either been instructed to do so via, visions, trances or other means. This is difficult however to combat, because one cannot specifically state that someone else’s spiritual experience was not genuine. There is however some explanations for these -
- A thought-form is contacting them.
- They are still tied to Abrahamic Messianic beliefs.
- They are genuinely delusional
- They are desperately trying to make their place in the community
Remaining Cautious and Careful -
The key, to the reader, should be the ability to stay away from such groups, as they are indeed starting to spread. As I have said before, the root of such groups is the issue, and not those who are swayed by it.
As you may be coming from a Abrahamic (Christian or otherwise related) background, the idea that Satan is the true returning king, and that his mighty kingdom will destroy his enemies, may feel like ‘home’, however, this is not the way it should be. Avoiding these groups may be difficult for you, as you may be worried about what else is out there, and want to stay comfortable.
The fact is, most groups of this type have the same rhetoric as Christianity, in the aspect of over-blown numbers, claims that all opposition will be destroyed, and the like. These statements may make such groups sound powerful and feared, however they are truly weak and scoffed. They may have the minor ability to cause some negativity, or the appearance of support (through false rankings, and fraudulent statistics), but they have no real power in the Satanic Community whatsoever.
The goal of the wandering Satanist, or curious traveler, should be to look for people whom are honest – who have no problem saying when they are wrong, and admitting the truth about their shortcomings and groups. While there are some that are genuinely honest, (a couple of people that come to mind are, Diane Vera and also Venus Satanas) there are not very many public groups and people within our community who are moving it forward. Most are those whom you should avoid, that although I want to mention them by name, it would only give them the recognition they do not deserve.
The best way to fight them is to be aware, and know WHAT they teach, rather than list them specifically. Sure, at some point I may indeed list those whom I know are of this sort, however that will be done when Satan has provided the opportunity and the reason.
A Closing Note
While I myself, have started a Temple, with several growth opportunities, I am not going to be one who over-blows it to make it something it is not. IT is fluctuating in its growth, and is still relatively small, it is not going to follow any of the problems that I have mentioned above. These things are what is harming our community, and the people around it, and will not be something that the Temple of Theistic Satanism will subscribe to.
There have been people calling me unfit to be a Satanist, or start any Satanic group or order – however I contend that it is up to Satan what I am fit OR unfit to do. This is something that no one person or group has the right to say, and regardless of how big they claim to be, I follow something much bigger – the path of Satan, to which I am devoted. I work with people all over my community at home. who know what and who I am. There is no fighting, nor is their any problem – and in the process I get to present to them the site of a Satanist who is not bent on world domination, or wants to eat people.
I hope that the information I have provided, although it be opinion and observation, is helpful to you, as I am always working to be part of the growth and health of the community – not its death and destruction.
